"Great at the price point..."
on by neiljadmanPros Easy to use and set up, decent quality. 5.1 capability
Cons None that I can think of.
Summary At this price point this cannot be beaten. You have to spend 5-6 times this to get better, and yes better is out there, but this will be quite good enough for any but the most avid audiophiles. And it's one for the very few at any price that offers 5.1 capability. I have been using mine for over a year and it;s been absolutely worry free. It has to be 10 on value for money alone.

"Simple and reliable."
onPros You get everything you need to start up, including good-grade cabling and PowerDVD software. The unit itself has both digital outputs (coax/optical) and analogue (RCA) - all outputting simultaneously. This unit has never failed me and has worked wonders
Cons The plastic casing feels cheap and I'm worried about getting it scratched or otherwise broken. Otherwise, it's a wonderful unit if you need *digital* connections to your stereo. This product is as it's called, a PRO sound unit. If you don't need high q

"Excellent for Optical Out to Home Theater Amp"
onPros You get a 30ft digital optical, 30ft digital coaxial and 30ft stereo rca cable plus the Link - all for the price of just what a 30ft optical cable would cost. I use the 30ft optical out to a Yamaha DSP-A1 and the sound is excellent. Installation is easy
Cons The 2 rca analog outs are not suitable for (Sony 7506) direct headphone use as there is no/little bass despite seeming to have plenty of drive (I even tried using a headphone volume control to reduce the level since it was so loud). Xitel tech support sa

"A pure digital connection from PC to Stero"
onPros Optical Input to Reciever has no galvanic connection therefore 0 sound quality degradation and no interference is introduced to the signal.
Cons If USB bus gets saturated music steam might cut out. I have mine on an dedicated server and avoid this
