"Just when I thought I could trust it ..."
Pros: Lots of storage, bells and whistles, low price
Cons: Unreliable product
Summary: Had my drive for two weeks, worked fine. Figured it was working OK, so I removed the files I had backed up from my primary hard drive to make space for a new project I was working on. Two days later, the drive would not power on anymore. I contacted Western Digital and determined the problem was in the drive (not the power supply). I asked if I could somehow recover the data on the disk and they referred me to a 3rd party "data recovery service" ... Why should I have to pay to recover my data because Western Digital produced a defective product? Rather than spending money on adding a bunch of fancy features, they should invest that money making their drive RELIABLE. I mean, isn't that the most important aspect of a disk drive?
