"Serious problems with this drive"
Pros: Setup, user interface, price
Cons: DLNA server, unreliable
Summary: I had this working for approx 48 hours before the error light started flashing. Buffalo customer services said it was an internal fan error so it had to be returned. However that's not my main complaint! I bought this for the inbuilt DLNA media server which lets you share media around your house particularly through the PS3. It worked but when the media server was switched on (always) in my case the drive is always working, like its writing to the hd or rendering. When i say always i mean non stop! It is very annoying and cant be good for the drive. Buffalo were aware of the problem and advised me to 'turn the DLNA server off' and the noise would stop and resolve the problem!!! I explained that i bought the drive because of the key selling point the server and they said it was normal. I can assure you it is not normal. My old Iomega drive did not do this.
Anyway refund received, Buffalo have some work to do....
