nowhere near as fast as claims

Summary: I seriously cannot believe some of the positive reviews I have seen on this drive. Obviously, these reviewers have not spent much time with the drive. First and foremost... do some research!! There are dozens and dozens of reviews out there about this drive completely failing after just a few weeks (or hours) of use. This happened to me, too. This drive CANNOT be trusted for valuable data. That said, even if you manage to keep it alive and humming, the advertised claims that it is up to 10X faster than Firewire are patently false. Again, read more reviews.... the speed is only nominally faster, my test with a 32GB file only took one minute faster with Tunderbolt than Firewire 800. (7 minutes vs 6 minutes) Hardly '10X faster'. Because of the high failure rate, the marginal increase in speed, wait for a more reliable and truly faster Thunderbolt drive. It's back to Firewire for me now....
