  • "Clickfree C2N 1TB - Too good to be true than it is."
    on by BT7474

Pros When it works properly then to back up simply plug and play.

Compared to some previous external hard drives which I have had the chance of losing my entire data is probably less.

Cons I ran out of space, and think it is important that people are aware of Clickfree problems

    1/2 star-Couldn't select no star

If data gets corrupted due to a virus it is possible to lose entire data with only 1 backup, which most people don't realize

Summary Size 6.5"(16.51cm) x6.5"(16.51cm)x 1.25"(3.175cm) is not pocket size.

Have to be plugged into the mains.

    Attracts dust far too easily.

Far too often it doesn't work properly due to bugs (faulty software, which even Clickfree's Technicians had problems solving.

Far too often complained to Clickfree's website and they have consistently have not replied.

It also appears that they have plenty of time to delete complaints in their; chat and in-boxes instead of dealing with complaints, which includes returning agreed telephone calls.

It usually only allows one backup for each computer.

This means that if data gets corrupted, despite the hype, that somebody's entire data and information can be come entirely useless.

Therefore, it should be possible to create as many back-ups as possible depending on the space available on the Clickfree.

An urgent download update should be created to allow users to create;1,3(son, father and grand-son),7(1 week),12(1 year),28(1 month due to February),24(1 day),and/or 100 backups).

    Does not have USB 3.

Doesn't come with a CD software.

For those people whom think that Clickfree is perfect then not only why is their customer support dreadful , but why are their so many FAQs: see Clickfree C2 (FAQ) official website:

    http://www.clickfree.com/index.php/page/faq

There shouldn't be much difference between 500GB version and 1TB version and UK and USA support.

  • "Worst 'product' ever!
Erased 10% of my saved bookmarks."
    on by oatmeal123

    Pros Nice clean/simple look.

Cons DELETED 10%+ OF MY SAVED BOOKMARKS.
*NOT EVEN LOCATED IN CLICK-FREE B/U's*.
    (therefore NOT BACKED UP)
Gave clickfree b/u's a total of three chances and all three times have resulted in lost/deleted bookmarks.
    ...BAD!

Summary JUST A WARNING TO ALL that might think about purchasing this product. DODD
    ======================================
Using Windows xp pro/sp2/mozilla firefox and Opera browsers.
    Avira and Avast! anti-virus.

WAS HOPING THAT IT WOULD WORK...SORRY TO SAY IT DIDN'T. (>_<)

Forgot to mention, it ALSO DELETED MY SAVED INFORMATION IN MyDocuments section.

  • "Very Easy To Install and Use"
    on by dkents

Pros Very easy install and operation. In the default Auto mode it located and backed up everything I wanted it to.

    Cons So far, none.

Summary I recently returned a Seagate GoFlex Ultra-Portable 1TB external hard drive because the software was very difficult to use, very little documentation and no User's Guide were provided and I was not certain it was backing up what I wanted it to. I bought this Clickfree C2N 1TB yesterday. I have backed up two computers on it and I could not be happier. It is everything the Seagate was not. It found and backed up everything I wanted it to, all automatically, and then displayed what it had backed up so I could verify it and have some peace of mind. Further, this Clickfree has a 3 year warranty, the hard drive runs at 7200 rpm and I paid $99.99 for it. The Seagate had 2 years, ran at 5400 rpm and I paid $119.99 for it. I highly recommend this Clickfree C2N 1TB. My only hope now is that it is reliable. Again, it does have a 3 year warranty. :-)

  • "Worked great until it broke, which was about 13 months."
    on by marczee

Pros When it worked it was very user friendly.

Cons Too expensive to only last a year. Just bought a new computer and now I'm back to using a thumb drive to transfer data, ugh!

Summary Contacted the company, they said it was probably the cord but the tech didn't really ask any questions. It took two phone calls and almost two months to get the replacement cord. Still doesn't work. I won't buy this product or anything from this company again.

  • "Easiest Backup Solution on the Market!"
    on by zoecy

Pros New and experienced user friendly

Cons None that I can find.

Summary If you just want to plug in your backup drive and have it do the job without any hassle, this is the drive for you. After trying both major competitor's products (and returning them) I was surprised at just how easy the Clickfree was to use; literally, a child could do it. You also have the option of specifying your target backups if desired. Yes, it may cost a few dollars more, but you get what you pay for here (and no, I do not work for the company).
