"I got a lemon - stay away"
Pros: Easy to use / setup
Cons: Doesn't wok properly
Summary: I recently bought the HP Media Vault MV2120 from buy.com. I also bought a spare 500 gig drive to plug into the unit. When I put in my spare drive and chose to mirror the drives, I ended up with the first drive showing up as a 232 Gig drive. After going thru HP support and ending up in India several times, I finally got a case number and began working with HP on the issue. They stated they had never seen this before and after doing a NAS recovery and resetting the firmware, they shipped me a new 500 gig drive. When I got the new drive and plugged it in, the same thing happened. They had no explanation as to why.
I think I just got a bad chassis but they are not returning phone calls and emails for days. I think the actual people at tech support are good but they have to run to mgmt every 5 minutes to get approval to do anything. It is very frustrating. I spent 2 weeks helping them troubleshoot it and they still don't have it working. I cannot take anymore, I am returning this lemon and going with another brand that works !
