LaCie 2big Quadra (hard drive array)

I have had this drive for about four months and I am literally impressed with it. It took over an older system, which was starting to concern me. The installation was very easy. I love the choice of interfaces, the storage capacity and the overall design and the build quality. In terms of performance, it does what it says on the box. It's precisely want I needed.

I bought this because I wanted an easy to use RAID system with a good choice of connection options. This Lacie drive seemed to fit the bill perfectly. The drive itself feels very sturdy and looks very nice. The RAID configuration was quite easy. You can set RAID 1, RAID 0, mixed mode (RAID 0 and RAID 1), or the so-called concatenation mode just by means of a small button on the back side of the drive. The performance has been very good so far. No noise, or overheating, in fact no problems at all in almost a year. Overall, this is a reliable and simple RAID array that just works.
