"Another one failed."
Pros: Looks great. Solid metal casing. Easy-to-use backup software.
Cons: Other than the fact that the Quadra failed without warning after one year of service, it worked fine. Unfortunately, I was not diligent with my paperwork and I do not have warranty coverage.
Summary: I don't believe this is a good product and will not buy LaCie again as a result.

I had the same problem and there's no problem with paperwork. Just go to the LaCie website and enter your serial number. They diagnosed my problem, a defective power supply adapter, and shipped a new one to me. I had the drive up and running again within three days. BTW - I think my drive was technically out of warranty and they responded to my tech questions online anyway.
