If you don't need all the bells and whistles that come with the OneTouch III Turbo Edition, the basic OneTouch III hard drive is a promising choice. The functional design, the software bundle, and the 7,200rpm hard drive make for a good basic external drive.
Review: The OneTouch III family includes single drive members with the following interfaces: USB 2.0; FireWire 400/USB 2.0; and FireWire 800/FireWire 400/USB 2.0. Capacities range from 100GB to 500GB. The 100GB and 200GB versions have an 8MB cache, while the 300GB, 400GB, and 500GB versions boast a 16MB cache. For backup, the USB-only version offers Maxtor's Backup software and the rest offer the EMC Dantz Retrospect HD software.
