Cons: BOUGHT A 2T SEAGATE UNIT A YEAR AGO. STARTED CLICKING, CALLED TECH SUPPORT WHO SAID SEND IT BACK IN AND WELL REPLACE IT. SEAGATE REPLACED IT WITH A DIFFERENT UNIT THAT HAD BEEN REFURBISHED. WOULD ANYONE LOAD ALL OF THEIR MOST PRECIOUS STUFF ONTO A REFURBI

Summary: BOUGHT A 2T SEAGATE UNIT A YEAR AGO. STARTED CLICKING, CALLED TECH SUPPORT WHO SAID SEND IT BACK IN AND WELL REPLACE IT. SEAGATE REPLACED IT WITH A DIFFERENT UNIT THAT HAD BEEN REFURBISHED. WOULD ANYONE LOAD ALL OF THEIR MOST PRECIOUS STUFF ONTO A REFURBISHED UNIT? I SPENT GOOD MONEY ON THIS UNIT AND THEY HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SEND OUT A UNIT THATS ALREADY BEEN BROKEN AND REPAIRED. DONT PURCHASE ANY SEAGATE UNIT, YOULL BE DISAPPOINTED WHEN IT EVENTUALLY BREAKS DOWN. THATS WHY THEY OFFER A FIVE YEAR WARRANTY. IF ITS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT PROBABLY IS.

"No Support, just return it if it does not work right" on by erickalan77

Pros: I liked the sales pitch

Cons: No support, does not work on my system

Summary: You will get absolutely no support for this product so if it does not work just return it. I have up to date drivers and service packs. Everything works but Vista Premium will not recognize the PS 110 through the 3.0 USB PC Express Card. Seagate runs you in circles trying to get a valid chat link or a phone number and I never reached a valid link or received a phone number. I have spent hours trying to install this and contact Seagate and it still does not work unless I use USB 3.0. They only offer 30 days support and just refuse to provide in truth. Their trouble shooter even says"just return it" after the briefest of investigation. But I bought this from Seagate, not a store. And once again they offer no valid contact method to return the hard drive.

    "BlackArmor?s glitches" on by kevinnash23

Pros: USB 3, good transfer speeds, no need to spend for additional accessories

Cons: Password protection absent, no Firewire, no eSATA

Summary: The Seagate BlackArmor comes with the USB 3 advantage and the transfer speeds are good. I could transfer my 50 GB files in less than 9 minutes; earlier it took me 16 mins to do the same. All the cables necessary for it to function properly, the USB 3 PC card adapter and the software as well are included in the package. I did not have to spend money on buying additional accessories for it. But it does not have a hardware encryption. The earlier version did have this feature. Can?t understand why Seagate decided to do away with it. It does not offer the password protection facility either. The installation process is not simple either. There is no Firewire or eSATA interface but the USB 3 makes up for it. Users who are particularly looking for the eSATA or Firewire should not opt for this.
