Cons Doesn't want to switch off (there's no power switch, so it depends on firmware)
No power saving modes, drive is always spinning, even after switch the PC off
Gets very very hot. More than 60 celsius. on by loekf | Read full review -
Cons Doesn't back up network drives. I don't know if it will back up a mapped drive or not. I plan to test that later.
Replica software installs automatically (it can be uninstalled but it really SHOULD ask first.) on by sysupport | Read full review -
Cons USB power issues keep it from staying mounted as a Time Machine backup -- the drive dismounts incorrectly and repeatedly corrupts and permanently damages Time Machine partition requiring reformat. on by kelleybp | Read full review

Cons Would like a power switch somewhere. Would like 3.0 or firewire connectors since it is compatible with those, they are extra. Works on my Mac but had to reformat the drive so I could use it with my backup (no big deal - took 30 seconds). on by JCabva | Read full review

Cons Runs hot, doesn't comply to standards, very delicate, poorly-written or nonexistent documentation on by JediSchool | Read full review

Cons I cannot count them all. When I had my iMac repaired they plugged in the Seagate drive and found it to be under powered thus causing it to act very strangely and duplicate it's icon on my desktop over and over. It was like it was shutting itself off then on by rosspowell_dotmac | Read full review

Cons The 2TB SeaGate drive doesn't stay mounted on the Mac. It constantly disappears from desktop. Check user forums on SeaGate if you want to see how bad the problem is. They issued a workaround that actually keeps pinging the drive just to keep it alive on by thumpinc01 | Read full review

Cons The drive developed bad sectors almost immediately and had to be completely reformatted within six months of very light use. After reformatting it, the bad sectors persisted and after a little more than a year the drive failed completely. This is a suprem on by J_duRivage | Read full review

Cons There is no power switch. The drive will spin when the computer is turned on.
If the computer is rebooted the drive will not come back up; the drive must be unplugged. Seagate recommends installing a different USB driver. on by Backup Bob | Read full review -
Cons get very hot, no power switch, randomly crashes and not always recognized by the PC. After a few months the unit stopped working freezing between 20 to 60 seconds, no way to extract the data from the filesystem. on by sanctipetri | Read full review

Cons Had it for a week when it crashed. Its own diagnostics tell me it has an error and has to be reformatted. My data is backed elsewhere (ironically, I bought this as a 2nd backup) but I lost hours of work cleaning and organizing data. on by nvh99 | Read full review

Cons Came with some lame Replica software that tried to auto install.
Actually 1.8TB - thats 200GB less than 2TB - for those counting at home. ;( on by dbseattle | Read full review -
Cons *Heats bit but obvious for HEAVY USAGE.
*Tall in height, so Better keep it flat to avoid tripping over.
*Can't use when AC power cuts. But now-a-days every one has UPS or similar power backups. on by tushar_patil001 | Read full review -
