Summary: I bought this to back-up my laptop, store movies/music on, and transfer files to and from campus. It does what its suppose to. Plug it in and the PC automatically recognizes it. No special software installation required. Comes with a proper length USB 3.0 cord (1.5-2ft???). Has a light to show if it has power or is currently in use (writing).

I would rather it had a matte finish rather than the polished black plastic. It shows fingerprints and may show scratches. It is quiet and does not seem to get hot. I have used it for hours on end when I first got it (still do on occasion) and it never got warm enough to cause any concern.

It gets used daily for miscellaneous file transfers and is always kept in my school backpack where it does not get the best treatment. That said it seems to be a pretty sturdy device.

I would recommend this as an easy-to-use external that gets the job done and does what its suppose to do.
