Pros: 5 year warranty, attractive design
Cons: eSATA, on/off switch, base gets hot
Summary: First of all, the eSATA is crippled and actually performs SLOWER than USB. This is a well known problem (Google it) and Seagate provides a firmware upgrade which, unfortunately, only partially corrects the problem. If you don't need eSATA, then buy the lower cost non-PRO USB-only version.
Second, the on/off switch is "touch sentitive" and seems to have a mind of it's own. Very annoying. This too is a well known issue.
Third, the base of the drive, not the drive itself, gets downright HOT. Seagate assures me that this is not a problem, but it is still a source of concern.
USB performance is good however, and the drive does perform well in this mode.
I personally would avoid this product if you can. -

Pros: good warrenty
Cons: can not backup old Win 98SE files or photos
Summary: Very disappointed. Cannot store old files or photos from a Win 98 SE machine. Works fine with Win XP.
