"Finally A REAL Warranty Period..."
Pros: 5 Year Warranty
Cons: Not NAS, No RAID 1
Summary: It has never made sense to me that you can buy an external hard drive from Seagate and it only has a One Year Warranty. On the other hand if you buy the same drive (disk drive only) that is included with their external drive and put it in your own enclosure you get their 5 year warranty.
The same goes for Western Digital too. Up to this point I would not buy an external drive from Seagate (my preferred vendor) becuase of this reason. This new product changes things and having an eSATA connector is a selling point for me.
