Pros It works well when it works.
Cons I bought one and it failed. I got it replaced and now the replacement failed. These work fine when they don't completely crap out.
Summary Hardware failure.
"Decent Model"on by palealejandro
Pros An idiot could operate this drive
Cons Has the drawbacks mentioned by the others, except the overheating issues, but nothing that tech support can't easily assist you with.
Summary I don't leave my external hard-drive on, so maybe that's why i haven't encountered this overheating problem. I turn it on long enough to back-up my files once a fortnight, then shut it off. Maybe not the best business solution, but I am reluctant to say anything bad about it based on my experience, and I've owned it for over four years at this point. Customer support gets an A.
Pros Great bundled software for backing up, scheduled transfers, nice color's available, USB connectivity, good storage size, Windows OS's work great with it. Also, a decent price.
Cons No idea what the top-button does, and it is rather loud when copying to the drive.
Summary Overall, if you want a good priced hard drive which works great and has scheduled backup, then this is the hard drive for you.
NO MAC compatibility?!
Pros Easy to use, no messy external CDs to deal with,
transfer speed is decent, price isn't too high
Cons Worked wonderfully for 9 months, then one day decided that it didn't want to be recognized by my computer. Have heard of many users having this problem. Design makes overheating common and internally some things are loose.
Gave me lots of grief!
Summary Good for ease of use but you certainly will need some other form of backup if you plan on putting your life savings on it.
