"Good product but don't fall for Vox rebates"
Pros: External HDD with eSATA interface works as expected
Cons: Vox failed to pay rebates.
Summary: I bought mine from Micro Center with two advertised manufacturer rebates. Vox required two separate submissions for regular and "bonus" rebates, each requiring the product to be registered on a third-party website with a printout of the confirmation to be enclosed with the rest of the usual stuff -- UPC, receipt, separate forms for each.
Nonexistent customer service.
Even after all that, they didn't send the rebates. It was nearly impossible to find contact details for the company, which handles its own rebate processing, and when I finally did track them down my voice mails and e-mails went unanswered. Finally after 8 months I got Micro Center to cough up the difference as a cash refund. Kudos to them but it took multiple phone calls, e-mails and a trip back to the store to get it done.
By the way, every one of the options at Vox Products' phone tree goes to voice mail, and since they don't seem to reply to anything I'd hate to have to try making any kind of warranty claim.
The product itself is satisfactory but I wouldn't recommend it over one of the major brands unless you can manage to find it at a substantial discount with no rebates involved.
