"Horrible idea to purchase this hard drive."
Pros: Its pretty easy, plug it in and go (this is the ONLY good thing I could find about this drive)
Cons: 1) (not just vox but all esata drives) you don't get advertised speed
Summary: I was extremely dissatisfied with almost every aspect of this external hard drive. First off, I know people are starting to get this now (and this issue is not exclusive to the Vox hard drive line) but You most likely WILL NOT get remotely close to the transfer speeds they advertise. Second, the features they advertise with security and some kind of an interface that helps you manage the hard drive is nonexistent on vista. Thirdly, this thing heats up to a point of concern, and it does so in a very short time. Fourthly, I had put files on, removed them, and placed them back on, only to, for some reason I haven't been able to discover yet, the drive refuses to write back and is actually now dead. Lastly, to make everything better, the customer service ignored every attempt (over 3 now) to assist me with a problem or grant me a replacement (I had the problem within 30 days of the purchase). I will never again purchase anything from Vox. Stay away from this external...
2)The features they advertise don't work / are nonexistant
3) It heats up very fast
4) Mine randomly decided to die on me within first month
5) nonexistent customer service
