"may have great features but what about the longevity..."

Pros: was actually cheaper at the time I bought it, than the competition

Cons: mine failed within a year - but what good is a warranty, it's the data that you're worried about losing. After looking on line for fault issues, I concluded that this particular one fails quite regularly.
Requires power cable and USB to operate.
