Pros: Large capacity, plug-and-play, simple, quiet, the plastic enclosure doesn't get hot.

Cons: Slow, does not have a power switch.

Summary: Bought this device at Fry's for $99.00, and returned it the next day. It was too slow for me. Transfer rates did not exceed 10MBps, if that (that's Mega Bytes per second). What's the point of making an USB 2.0 device if you're going to have speeds no better than USB 1.1??? My old external HDD tops 30MBps!
The lack of a power switch was another issue. If you want to turn this unit off you will have to unplug it from the ac outlet. It has an LED that blinks when the unit is active and stays on steady when it is powered, but it's located in the back, right next to the USB and power jacks.
If you can live with these shortcomings then this unit is worth it.
