"Without a doubt worst computer purchase I ever made"
Pros: Well, it didnt explode in my face
Cons: Cons are that there are literally no pros. Didnt work, couldnt get refund, files gone forever.
Summary: I bought this around April - the manufacturer's warranty had expired 6 months before that. So that's where we start. Then after I upload everything I need backed up onto this external HD, it just plain dies dead. I contacted WD & they said they can refer me to a data recovery company who can Try for a large fee to get my files back. They offered to replace the product but for something like $15 less than what I paid for it in the 1st place. So that way I can use it & lose my files all over again, right? Then hopefully call their data recovery company & continue the cycle.
I started using online storage with Dot Mac but I think I still need an external drive. Was shopping online & saw this and HAD to warn the world. I hope no one makes the mistake of buying this.
Wouldve given 1 point higher but the reviewer before me said basically the same thing then gave it a high score. Thats not too helpful.
