"Broke just outside of 1-year warranty. Would NOT buy another Hanspree."
Pros: Worked for 16 months.
Cons: Broke after 16 months of light use.
Summary: The picture quality on this model was admittedly not the best, but for the price point ($500), I thought it was a good deal for an extra tv in my home office. However, after just sixteen months of light use, it broke. When powered on, the green power light illuminated, but the screen remained black and there was no sound. Further, it was not possible to turn the tv off with the remote or at the console; rather, it had to be unplugged to make the green light go off. I contacted Hannspree and was told that I would have to ship my tv to the Westcoast, pay $85 for them to look at it and then pay for whatever parts needed to be replaced. When I asked whether they thought it was unreasonable to expect a 32" LCD tv to last more than 16 months, I was told that they "didn't know" and that "they have no control over when electronics fail." Never again. Early savings just end up costing more in the long run. I have replaced with an LG from a reputable dealer. Wish that I would have gone that route in the first place.
