"This TV is GREAT"
Pros: Picture and HD reception
Cons: None so far. Maybe the fact that they cannot be repaired, but I bought the extra replacement insurance.
Summary: For the past 6 months or so I've been looking at DLP's and the new LCD-3's. Their picture quality is ok as long as you are looking straight at them, but off to either side or sitting lower than line of sight and the picture dulls alot. I've always been leary of the Plasmas because at first they weren't so great, but I want a perfect picture and this one has just that. With a HD TIVO and this Hitachi, all I need is a bowl of chips and a cold beer and I'm set. I LOVE IT!

We looked at HDTVs for over a year. I was afraid that as soon as I bought one, there would be a better one at a better price.
After seeing this TV in person, we bought it. The HD picture is so good that I don't care if a better one comes out. I was going to buy a home theater system, but this TV has more than adequate sound. I am not ruling out a home theater, but there is no rush. You can research the technical specs, as we did, so there is no point in going beyond saying that this TV has more than adequate connection features. No PC connection, but I knew that going in. We have Dish Sat, and it and the TV are fully compatible. The only problem is with an Akai DVD player/recorder, but the Akai was a problem compatibility wise even with the old TV. Just for info, I have a JVC DVD player and it works: too bad it dosen't record.
All that I can say is that we have had the TV for almost two months and I would buy it again. -
can you tell where it is made/assembled? how's the picture quality in 720p and 1080i? thanks
