"Great TV! $5000 TV for half the price. Love Mine."
Pros: Great Picture, 2YR In home Warranty, Gobs of Pic ADJ than any other TV.
Cons: No Table Top Stand Included. Not 1080P????
Summary: First off, let me say. I've owned a few Plasmas, Rear Projections, and LCD's. Plasma is deffinately the way to go. Also, when you see some of those TV's in the Magnolia section of Best Buy like this one, there is a reason. Most of them have the better technology inside, and also way more adjustment options. This TV if adjusted right has one of the best pictures of any TV I've seen or owned. And, I've had a Sony, Samsung, Toshiba. The only problems I see is there aren't too many reveiws on Hitachi sets. So, it's hard to guage how good they are until you own one. As electronics goes, this TV dropped in price because it is an early 2007 model. But, the innner technology to me is still as good or better than half of the newer model TV's out now. Plus, the picture adjustments are incredible on this set. So, for the price of this TV, it is deffinately worth the price. No 1080P. That and no table top stand are really the only CON's I could find. And to be honest, I really can't tell the difference in picture quality especially among the lower priced 1080P sets. I would deffinately recommend this set if you can still get one. 2 YR In-hoime warranty is great also. I am going to post my picture settings, since they are so scarce.

Now these settings are for my DirecTV HD DVR Box. They work great for HD broadcasts and actually do really well with SD also.
For my Upscale DVD Player I actually moved Brightness to 58. I agree with moemathews, your DVD settings will be a little different than your HD Box. If you want more info visit AVS forums. Type in 55HDX99 in the search. Hope this reveiw helps.
