Plasma displays are set to become one of the mainstream display devices of the future, and as such are expected to enjoy good market growth. Plasma displays have a number of features, which include a slim, space-saving form factor, self-illumination, digital operation and wide viewing angle. The thinness of the displays allows them to be used in a wide range of installation configurations, and their wide viewing angle means that many people can view the screen at the same time. Thus, plasma displays create a new visual image space that is unlike that of a conventional CRT or projection TV. The ability to display small text and graphics, as well as moving pictures, at high resolutions makes plasma panels suitable for large-screen displays able to handle the fusion of data and moving pictures that is developing through a process of media digitization. Another feature is that since the displays do not use magnets, they can be moved and oriented in different directions without having to adjust the colors and focus each time.
CMP4121HD is an exciting addition to the Hitachi family of plasma displays. This 42-inch plasma display provides a powerful solution for natural, lifelike color, featuring black framing for deeper blacks and a Dynamic Color Balance (DCB) circuit that will enhance color at all brightness levels. The CMP4121HD also features a thinner bezel and tinted faceplate for a sophisticated look and sleek styling, as well as color temperature adjustment capability, enabling users to customize the image for optimum output.

Pros: OWNED THIS MODEL FOR 5 1/2 YRS TROUBLE FREE
Cons: NOISE LEVEL FROM FAN NOTIABLE AT TIMES, BUT JUST TURN UP THE VOLUME A LITTLE.

PAID 4000.00 IN 99'. FEEL AS GOOD ABOUT THE PURCHASE TODAY AS THEN (HAPPY). BELIEVE THE PRICE ON THIS UNIT HAS DROPPED 1K SINCE.WOULD STILL CONSIDER IT AGAINST THE COMPETETION. BUT I HAVE TO SAY THERE SEEM TO BE MANY UNITS AVAILABLE TODAY THAT I WOULD BE HARD PRESSED TO PASS UP.

Pros: EXCELLENT PICTURE, EASY TO HOOK UP AND ADJUST. REAL HD TV 1024 X 1024 NO NEED TO UPGRADE AGAIN. BEST VIEWED FROM 8'-12' AWAY. USE THE VERY BEST CABLES TO HOOK UP ANY HD TV DO NOT SKIMP OR YOU'LL WAIST YOUR MONEY.
Cons: HAS DROPPED A THOUSAND DOLLARS SINCE I BOUGHT MINE IN NOV. 1999. BUT STILL WORTH EVERY PENNY FOR "HD" PROGRAMMING
