"The HP LC3200N exceeded my expectations" on by ndirishfan

Pros: Excellent Picture, HD Inputs, Swivel Base, HD Tuner

Cons: Setting up Off Air Digital Channels, Remote buttons, Cosmetics

Summary: I previously owned another brand 26" LCD and was looking for something larger. COMPUSA offered 48 months interst free financing so I had to check out the HP model. I did research online (CNET) included and then looked at the TV on the floor. I was looking for a TV that offered excellent contrast, brightness and had the inputs I need for my HD upconverision DVD player, XBOX 360 and any other HD input device I play plug in. The picture quality looked excellent at the store. In comparision to other LCDs on display, I saw no weakness in this one. I understand all the variables that can impact the picture performance at the store level, but the picture still popped at retail. It may have cost a bit more, but with the financing, I couldn't pass it up. When I got home, I hooked it up, struggled slightly hooking up analog cable and digital off air and setting it up, but once I followed the owners manual exactly, was able to get it going with no problem. With my passive antenna, I receive all the off air HD stations in Indianapolis. I also hooked up my XBOX 360 through the component inputs and set the xbox to 720p and WOW, the games look great. The swivel stand is a nice add, but the general case/cosmetics look a bit cheesy. I couldn't rate it a 10, because I think it will take time to truly rate this set. I have been very happy with the purchase and would happily suggest this set to my friends.

"Easy to set-up, very flexible" on by dwingerson

Pros: Awesome picture, multiple inputs, easy to mount

Cons: Buttons on remote could have been placed better

Summary: This is my first flat panel TV. I went with LCD over plasma due to the lower weight of the LCD. I needed a TV that I could mount on an articulated arm. I am completely pleased with this TV. The multiple inputs have accommodated my PC, digital cable, X-Box, mini-DV…It is easy to switch between inputs and the picture is awesome. Even standard TV is much better than I have seen on other HDTV’s. The Aspect ratios are selected by input and real easy to adjust. I would recommend this TV to anyone.

"The very best 32 inch LCD HDTV I have seen" on by motorcom

Pros: built in ASTC tuner, incredibly good picture

Cons: somewhat pricey for screen size

Summary: I have spent a lot of time comparing LCD TVs and this is really the best. Visual artifacts that show up in other sets are minimized in the HP presumably due to better image processing. However they do it, the picture is better - clarity, realistic color and minimal picture noise.

Playing my SDTV mini-DV camcorder back through the HP was visually superior to playing through other LCD displays in the store.

Sound is quite good through built-in amp and side mounted speakers - which are removable.

To me this set surpasses Olevia, Sharp Aquos and even Sony's Bravia.

The built in tuners NTSC, ATSC and cable card capability combined with all the available inputs make this a super set that compares favorably with plasmas that cost more and run hotter.

"Maybe a lemon?" on by tystone2

    Pros: Great Picture

Cons: Repairs needed in first 3 months

Summary: We purchased the HP LC3200N after reading many product reviews and were not disappointed by the picture (especially when watching HDTV over the air). However, we have now had to schedule two service calls with HP, one for a "known problem," which required replacement of the "main board" and another part, and now a second to replace the main board again for another problem. The first problem was an input-status box that popped up in the upper right of the screen sporadically when we used the dvd player. The second problem appeared after they fixed the first one -- we lost all ability to pick up TV (analog and HDTV) signals from our antenna. On the plus side, HP customer service has been pretty pleasant to deal with so far and the TV does have a beautiful picture...

"great picture and very stylish" on by cizlaw

Pros: both hdmi and dvi, great picture

Cons: would like another hdmi input

Summary: This is a great tv. It has a great picture, and it is easily the most stylish looking tv that I saw while shopping.
