Manufacturer description
TV playback of iPod video content is more convenient than ever with the JVC LCD TVs with a built-in iPod dock. Including three full HD 1080p sets, the LT-42P789 features JVC's TeleDock, a flip-down iPod dock at the base of the set, providing a direct connection for playback through the TV. When an iPod is docked, a menu appears on the TV screen for selecting music, music shuffle or video playback. iPod can be controlled from the TV's remote, which includes a circular keypad with a control scheme that mimics the iPod's control wheel. Photos can also be displayed as a slide show along with music. During music playback, song title and artist name are displayed on the TV screen. During video playback, low resolution files, such as Internet videos, can be displayed in a small screen mode. Higher resolution video can be shown in nine aspect modes at full screen. There's also the option to play music files while the TV displays television programming. In addition, the iPod will charge while docked whether the TV's power is on or off. Besides the iPod dock and playback features, JVC's P-Series LCD TVs are full featured high definition displays with a cabinet design that conveys the sets' focus on both audio and video performance. Each features a universal remote with direct input access, a on-screen menu system, a side-mounted USB photo viewer, and ATSC / QAM tuning. Connections include three HDMI inputs, two component inputs, one S-video input, SPDIF input and an analog audio output for sending sound from an iPod or the TV through a home theater system. The sound package delivers 10 watts per channel to a pair of JVC's exclusive oblique cone speakers. And JVC's Omni Surround package with equalizer offers four listening modes - movie, music, news (for news or talk show programming) and mono (for simulated stereo from mono programming).User opinions

Great TV, Great Features
Pros: Picture quality, ability to use iPod dock, up-conversion of iPod Videos, integrated digital receiver
Cons: Could use some better speakers... but hey flat panels arent supposed to have great speakers
then to come here and blame the TV for having problems? hummm... weird, anyways the only cons i have is the speakers. But you shouldn't expect great speakers on a flat panel TV kind of like not to expect great things out of floor model TVs on sale at business that no longer will be there.... common sense would think...

Disagree With First Two
Pros: Blacks are black. Bright Colors are bright
Cons: Speakers. Overall sound it produces.

This is a POS!
Pros: There can be nothing good to be said about this TV.
Cons: Everything the other guy said is totally the same as what I have experienced with this thing. Luckily I work for a retailer and that is how I have experience with it and I did not purchase it. The backlight is all wonky and makes everything look blue

The picture quality is the worst I have ever seen
Pros: Unfortunately I bought it from Circuit City when they were closing or it would have gone right back. I have spent $450 with direct tv trying to get a watchable picture, its grainy, the colours are all wrong it changes screen size by itself.
Cons: There is nothing I would say positive about this tv. I would not wish one on my worst enemy. JVC are sending a rep out.
I only bought this as I wanted a larger screen than my 32" samsung on which the picture is flawless.
This one, you cant play a vcr tape or a dvd its just fuzzy. This tv is discusting.
I certainly would never buy another JVC anything ever again.
