"Awesome Quality, Feature Set, Price"
Pros: Picture quality, warranty, features, remote, price
Cons: Maximum resolution as a computer monitor only 1024x768
Summary: This set is fantastic! The picture quality is on par with Sony, Sharp, and Samsung, and it beats all of them in the price/benefit value department. Not one dead or stuck pixel after 2 months of ownership! The brightness and contrast ratio are perfect and perfectly complemented with the EZ PICTURE button on the remote which allows you to change the picture brightness, contrast, intensity etc... with the push of a button, the same with the EZ sound button that lets you change the sound settings with one tap on the remote. Presets for both EZ PIC and EZ Sound are awesome.
I chose LG after two bad experiences with RCA Brand TV the L32WD12 from Walmart, the first one had multiple dead pixels, the second one the sound would stop working, the tv would freeze when you used the info button! The LG 32LC2D has been such a great contrast the the poor quality of RCA!
Deep blacks, great skin tone, rich color pallete (approx 1.1 billion displayable colors vs. a standard 16.77 million for many LCD HDTV'S - you really notice this when viewing programs that use graphics with color gradients where red fade's into blue or what have you.)
The remote is awesome and UNIVERSAL which is so great I can control everything from one remote, and it is very stylish.
I was conviced by a sales rep to purchase the LG due to his knowledgeability of the brand and comparison to other sets.
The HDTV tuner, standard tuner, and QAM tuner are nice to have and work very efficiently. The favorites channel feature is handy when switching between HDTV channel's OTA and Cable you can scroll through a list of your most recently viewed channels when you hit the favorites button, and also when you manually enter a channel number! Handy.
Everything works true to form as opposed to the RCA set I had, nothing worked right settings wouldn't stay etc... You get what you pay for I guess, but LG kind of defies this statement in that it offers a great price point and feater set that can embarrass sharp, samsung, and even sony.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SET TO ANYONE WHO IS A STICKLER FOR QUALITY AND APPRECIATES A PRICE POINT THAT WON'T BREAK THE BANK!
