Pros Beautiful Picture, Fast Response Time, Accurate Colors, Sound, Adjustments, Beautiful Design
Cons Takes a bit longer than most tv's to start up.
Summary The CNET review on this tv is not accurate. I own this TV for about 2 months now. AMAZING picture quality. I play blu-ray movies and PS3 games constantly, NO ghosting, AMAZING and ACCURATE color representation. The sound on the tv is GREAT quality...nice clear and crisp sound. Standard definition looks good on this tv and HDTV is just TOP!! I compared this tv to a Sharp, Sony, Samsung, and Insignia (dont know why that one was there) and samsung and this LG had the best picture.
The reason why i chose the LG was because samsung over charges. Just like sony..why are the sony tv's so much more expensive??...DUH cause its SONY...your paying for the name! All sony is good for are their walkmans.
This tv had the sharpest and brightest image. The black levels are good!! Compared to the samsung...honestly its about the same thing. There is not a massive difference. Most people and i mean 95% of people wont even tell the difference.
guys...720p on a 40 inch TV and smaller produces images that are identical to 1080p on 42'' tv's and larger.
720p is PERFECT for this size. 1080p is only needed when screen sizes are bigger than 42 inches....your eye cant see a difference when a tv is smaller than 40 inches.
There are some confusions as to whether or not its 8ms or 6 ms Response time...who cares...i played call of duty 4....Grid....GTA4...NO problems with ghosting or anything. Can you guys really tell the difference between 2 ms?? NO you cant cause the eye cant distinguish a movement that fast.
Anyways for 799.99 this tv is the best bang for your buck...LG really stepped it up.
By the way...the adjustments on this tv are unbeleivable. You can SUPER fine tune this tv unlike other tv's in its class.
Pros It's entry level.
You get what you pay for in Consumer electronics these days.
Long Life Span.
Great for the price.
Cons It's entry level.
Does not give you black.
Will not end up as a door stop in two years. If LG had built in sub-par tubes, we could have another use for this Tv other than just working as a display.
Summary "but fortunately for people who don't like wasting money, its native resolution is the standard 1,366x768, not 1080p, which is a waste at this screen size"
Unfounded criticism. This may be relivant at 42"+. Remember that 1080p becomes important for large screens and only if you have material that will support it.
Superior to Chinese manufactured TV's.
Pros Deep blacks even better than the samsung right next to it, the ln32a330 and a little better than the a450 of he same model class.
Cons color is a little off but I think it is how they had it set up on the store.
Summary Looks great and has deeper blacks than most lcds that i have looked at in this price range and size. Cnet I enjoy most of your reviews but this one is a little off as it has really deep blacks and your review of it has it as not so deep, o well better luck next time.
Pros AMAZING vivid colors, super fast response time, sleek looks, adjustability galore
Cons not cheap (but not too expensive either) take a few seconds to power on
Summary I looked and looked and looked for an lcd tv that would fit my needs in affordability but also in quality and bang for buck. I didn't rate this at a nine or ten because their are better tv's out there, but if this isn't the best 32 on the market, its at least takes second place.
There is SO much adjustability, its incredible. If you like lots of features and you are into tweaking, you'll love it. if not, the standard settings are pretty dang good too. If you are a gamer, you'll appreciate the fast 5ms response time, which is faster than anything samsung or sony offers in this price range and it shows, even when playing wii in a low 480p resolution.
I personally dont have any issues with the black levels, and you won't either unless you scrutinize things like cnet does.
This tv is a great value for the money, and even if it was 75 bucks more, it would still be awesome. You will NOT be dissapointed!
Pros Very sharp looking HDTV with an excellent picture. Easy menu system for customizing displays and ability to toggle saved display settings is a nice feature. Plenty of ports to plug in additional media. 3 HDMI and 1 RGB PC ports are very handy.
Cons Puts out a decent amount of heat. Gloss Black finish is a dust magnet.
Summary Great HDTV for a medium sized room. The regular retail price of $800ish is steep but its worth the price. I bought this model on Amazon.com for $600.00 so there are nice deals for this model.
Very happy owner.
