LG's 42-inch LCD TV (42LC2D) meets the market need for innovative design combined with innovative technology. The stylish wave line design provides consumers with a fresh look in the LCD market. Additionally, the unit achieves the same glossy and luxurious look while eliminating the extra step of painting after molding through new technology providing an environmentally friendly unit. To complement the unit's innovative design, the 42LC2D's XD Engine provides consumers with the desired better overall picture quality and viewing experience. Only available under the LG brand, XD Engine takes low-resolution analog signals to near high-definition levels. Furthermore, meeting the continuous goal of better, crisper images the unit incorporates Super In-Plane-Switching (Super IPS) technology. Consumers can view the LCD from different angles without loss of color or image. The technology allows 178-degree viewing angle - widest in the market - and an 8 ms response time - among the fastest on the market. Additionally, Super IPS technology provides the best display quality at any gray level, the least color shift and distortion, best uniform contrast ratio and the most reliable screen (stable liquid crystal structure). LG's 42LC2D enhances LG's already present wide array of digital display options, building on its global leadership position in LCD technologies and delivering on the promise for practical, innovative and elegant design displays.
