"Best 3D LED TV on the market under 1K"

5 stars  | on by netified

Pros

deep black levels that make this TV perfect for movies with several dark scenes.

Cons

no smart TV but 3D is the best anyway

Summary

This TV has good local dimming with deeper black levels. I see true and full HD resolution on this set and the 3D quality is probably the best out of all the 3D TVs I have seen so far. One small thing that makes a huge difference is the clip-on ... Read full review

One small thing that makes a huge difference is the clip-on 3D glasses. Simple yet very innovative industrial design.

"An okay tv, if you can find it on sale."

2.5 stars  | on by Kam192

Pros

This tv does feature very good color and I like the sleek style of the set itself. It has a nice crisp picture and a good amount of customization. The Picture Wizard II is a very nice feature to help even non-tech tv buyers get good picture.

Cons

This tv is lacking a lot of features, especially with the hefty price of over 1k! The inputs could be a little better placed, and ONLY have digital audio out is quite annoying for those of us with older audio receivers. DOES NOT HAVE 120HZ TRUMOTION!

Summary

I would not have bought this tv if I did not get it on close out. I payed right around $600 for this tv. It seemed like a good deal. And while the picture is nice and detailed; with very good colors- Something was missing. The box says this set features 120hz tru-motion: But it does not. I called LG, (twice), did the firmware update via a USB drive because the TV would not do it over the net, and had an adviser walk me through how to enable tru-motion on a "similar" model. This tv however, does not have trumotion controls on it. Even with updates. You will not get a SMOOTH picture as comparable to other sets that are 120hz. The tv is a nice set and a good value for 3d if you can find it on close-out. However there is a reason it is a close out tv and you will find it only boasts a measly 60hz picture; no matter how you try and configure it.

"Very nice TV, 3D is surprisingly good"

4.5 stars  | on by mevnet

Pros

I have the 42" and I like the design, interface is fairly easy to use, it is DLNA certified (no apps). IQ is good with plenty of fine tuning options, pretty good out of the box. Remote has nice ergonomics.
Comes w 4 pairs of glasses (AG-F310)

Cons

Tiny sound and vibrating plastics at high volume, plan for alternatives. I am still to get used to the remote, and unfortunately it is not backlit

Summary

I have posted a short overview video on YouTube including unboxing, initial installation and setup, menus and firmware upgrade: http://youtu.be/yzVpaMselNg

LG also has the AG-F310DP glasses for these TVs for dual play, but you have to purchase separately.
