Summary: I've had this TV for about 6 months now, and absolutely love it...the regular programming channels come in very good, then you turn to HD channels and it has the tendancy to blow you away...The picture is crystal clear, and the sound it pretty good, as well...I hooked up a large surround sound system, cause the tv itself didn't give me a theatre like experience on it's own. I paid $1249 on sale at Best Buy, and would get a 2nd one in a heartbeat if they do the sale again...

Summary: I went with the LG over the samsung model because the price difference was enough that I could get a PS3, an inexpensive home theater, and nice TV, all for the same price as just getting the Samsung.

This is an attractive TV, nicely housed, with a sleek stand that has a swivle on it that came alot more in handy than I thought it would have.

The sound is on par with most other flat screens, decent highs, with a cheesy bass response, but thats what home theater is for. The speakers are nicely hidden though.

The picture is great, only second to the Sony XBR and Samsung 120hz models. The viewing angle is the best Ive ever seen. little or no image defect when viewing from the side. 3 HDMI's, a side compenent, and a usb port for MP3 playback is a great touch. Blue Ray and this TV are a great combo.

The menu and remote is good, however Im told that the picture could be a lot better if I could get the the hidden calibration screen in the 'hidden service menu'. Lots of available adjustments in the regular menu though. The remote is nice, with picture adjustment buttons that keep you from having to roll through the menu every time. I wish it would have had backlit controls though. The heat output seems to be nice a small. Black level is decent compared to Samsung or Sony XBR, however I saw this set next to a vizio and an olevia and it blew them away when it came to black level. PS3 games look amazing on it. The only reason I gave it an 8 out of 10 is because I cant give anything a 10 because in two years from now they'll come out with something even better Im sure.
