"I took my time to do my research and this was the one hands down" on by RedSox-Nation

Pros: Amazing picture - no blurring - great color / black level (countless side by side comparisons) - a ton of ports - no distortion / fade / glare with various viewing angles - SD channels crisp

Cons: You will read that the colors out of the box need a lot of tweaking so there may be something to that but I didn't have that issue

Summary: There really aren't a lot of reviews on this set that I found when I was looking to purchase so I thought I would do my best to break down why I chose this over the others.

Like most of you taking the time to read this review I did a lot of research on LCD's before I made this purchase. I had narrowed my decision down to the 47LBX, the Samsung and Sony comparable models and the LBX won out.

I won't spend much time on the looks but it's a great looking TV. If you don't have this wall mounted the stand will swivel about 30 degrees in either direction so no matter where you place your set and are situated in your room you can easily rotate it for the best viewing angle... but regardless - the image is just as clean at any sitting position.

In my research I was able to set up sets side by side and compare pictures. Everybody is different - some like warm - some like true but for me there was a noticeable difference between the quality of the LG picture compared to the rest (at the same settings). The one thing that absolutely stood out was the true black that the LG puts out as opposed to the gray fuzzy blackish (very technical talk I know) I experienced from other sets. The picture on Standard Definition channels are better than any other set - it's not close. The HD picture is unbelievable and the picture for Blu-Ray is on it's own planet. PS3 / gamers - this set is unreal - a whole new experience.

I'm sure you will go over the specs but that said, ports are important to a lot of people and this has them - a lot of them - 3 HDMI for instance. I find the menu / setup on the set to be very easy to use to adjust contrast / tint etc if you choose to do so. I sit about 10 feet away and the size is perfect. I didn't want to feel like I was sitting in IMAX but by no means will you need to pull up your chair... anything bigger would be too much.

Since my purchase I contine to read reviews on this just to get "expert" takes on this as well as my fellow consumers opinions. The biggest knock I've seen is that a lot of adjustments need to be made to the picture to get anything remotely close to a true HD picture. Frankly I don't buy it - as if that was the case I wouldn't have. Is this set a 10? I'm sure there are things that could be better to some but for me it is. Hope this helps - good luck with your decision.

"Top of the Line LG LCD and it looks it!!!" on by oleshka63

    Pros: image quality, design, inputs!!!

Cons: no cable controlled trough the remote.

Summary: This is clearly one of the best choices for a Full HD LCD TV. I exchangedf Toshiba Regza Cinema series for this set and couldn't be happier!!! Can not go wrong with this set.

"Throw all your worries out the window" on by halemj15

Pros: Unbelievable picture. Pretty decent sound, very easy to use!
    Overall 100% satisfied.

Cons: I can't figure out how to get my roomates to turn it off when they pass out each night!!!!

Summary: I've had this TV for about 6 months now, and absolutely love it...the regular programming channels come in very good, then you turn to HD channels and it has the tendancy to blow you away...The picture is crystal clear, and the sound it pretty good, as well...I hooked up a large surround sound system, cause the tv itself didn't give me a theatre like experience on it's own. I paid $1249 on sale at Best Buy, and would get a 2nd one in a heartbeat if they do the sale again...

"The best 120hz TV you can buy without breaking the bank" on by shnarg007

Pros: USB port for MP3 playback, No loss of picture quality with viewing at angle, 120hz picture is great

Cons: Not too many, the Full %100 color calibration menu is hidden in some kind of secret menu you cant get to

Summary: I went with the LG over the samsung model because the price difference was enough that I could get a PS3, an inexpensive home theater, and nice TV, all for the same price as just getting the Samsung.

This is an attractive TV, nicely housed, with a sleek stand that has a swivle on it that came alot more in handy than I thought it would have.

The sound is on par with most other flat screens, decent highs, with a cheesy bass response, but thats what home theater is for. The speakers are nicely hidden though.

The picture is great, only second to the Sony XBR and Samsung 120hz models. The viewing angle is the best Ive ever seen. little or no image defect when viewing from the side. 3 HDMI's, a side compenent, and a usb port for MP3 playback is a great touch. Blue Ray and this TV are a great combo.

The menu and remote is good, however Im told that the picture could be a lot better if I could get the the hidden calibration screen in the 'hidden service menu'. Lots of available adjustments in the regular menu though. The remote is nice, with picture adjustment buttons that keep you from having to roll through the menu every time. I wish it would have had backlit controls though. The heat output seems to be nice a small. Black level is decent compared to Samsung or Sony XBR, however I saw this set next to a vizio and an olevia and it blew them away when it came to black level. PS3 games look amazing on it. The only reason I gave it an 8 out of 10 is because I cant give anything a 10 because in two years from now they'll come out with something even better Im sure.

"2nd only to the Samsung, 120hz rocks!" on by knshall

Pros: 120 hz, lots of picture and sound options, nice menu, USB port is great

Cons: Sound could use more bass, but its hard to complain about stock sound with a picture like this

Summary: 120Hz TV is the way to go. If you're thinking of going with a nicer TV and not going with 120Hz because of the price diff, you'll be sorry you did. This TV is second only to the Samsung in picture quality in my opinion. I was trying to Spend $2500 or less on the nicest TV i could find. I almost went with a 60Hz samsung, but if anyone has ever seen 60hz next to 120 hz, you just cant go with 60hz. This TV was $800 cheeper than the samsung 120hz model. I bought this TV for 2,000 on sale and got a PS3 to play Blue Ray on it for less than I would have paid just for the samsung model. The picture is amazing. Would it kill the manufacturers to put a small decent sub woofer in their TV's though? Probly not but Im not going to complain because the picture is amazing and fast action 1080 looks like your on the movie set watching it being filmed. Dont scimp on the HDMI cable.
