Pros The color and overall picture quality for movie and sports is excellent.
Cons Glare can be a problem; need to be able to control your room lighting. No internet access or net cast features.
Summary Once I realized that the difference between 720p and 1080p can only be appreciated when sitting less than about 8' from 50" screen, I was comfortable shopping for a 720p set. Even in our small living room, we sit 10 to 12 feet from the screen. Other specifications, such as black levels, contrast ratio and refresh rate are actually more important than screen resolution. The LG plasmas all excel in these categories and deliver a beautiful high definition picture. If you don't intend to sit closer than 8' from your TV or use it primarily for computer display in office or small conference room, you have nothing to gain from paying more for a 1080p set. This set does not have internet access, but that is not an issue for us, because our blu-ray player is connected. The 3D performance is very good. Make sure you get the 2011 model of the LG glasses, which are RF vs older IR connectivity. This set has so much going for it that is would be a good value, even if priced considerably higher.
