Pros sleek look | excellent 3D on HD movies | HD pictures looks amazing inside the store. Compared this TV to Sonia Bravia and Samsung 8000. I also own a Pioneer 50" plasma for comparison.
Cons None Yet - of course, it's not the cheapest TV on the market.
Summary Decided to buy LM9600 over Sonia Bravia X960 and Samsung 8000. Just bought from Best Buy. Retailed for $3,600, on sale for $3,000 and bought for $2,500. The sales person offered me this price w/o me asking for discount. I wouldn't normally buy a TV from BB (versus online), but their staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.
I compared the 3 TVs for 3D, HD movie and HD live feed (Direct TV). I read all the reviews on CNET for these TVs and was tempted by the Sony, but decided the thick black border was off putting compared with the LG.
I'll update this post in 3 months when I've had the TV for a while. So far, I believe I made the right choice for my family.
Pros Picture quality
Quality and ease of use of passive 3D
Ease of set up
Performance with with 1080i TV, Bluray and even DVD sources
Cons Would benefit from keyboard to efficiently use Smart features
2D-3D is still rather artificial
Screen gloss a bit reflective (similar to its competitors in this regard)
Summary I would strongly recommend this TV for its performance. The key features you look for in a TV are things it does very well. The colours, whites and blacks are strong. The detailing is good. The convenience and ease of use are good. Whole household are pleased with the set.
The caveat is you need to ensure the Trumotion is OFF and the super sensitivity detail OFF... Far from improving smoothness, this additional image processing seems to cause blurring and/or other artefacts in rapid motion in dim light scenes. (Batman Dark Knight was admittedly a tough test.)
But with these features OFF... the image performed for me as well as the ES8000... and with the low fatigue and relatively inexpensive passive 3D you don't have to worry about the kids sitting on the glasses or accidentally sneezing while scratching their nose with a fork ;-)
Spend the time, calibrate and choose right feature settings and you'll really enjoy the TV.
(No children were actually scratching their noses with a fork during the making of this review ;-)

Pros smart TV for real
Cons the says blacks but it was not truly apparent
Summary beats out the Elite that was sitting right next to it.
Pros Picture Quality, highly bright contrast ratio, smart magic motion remote and comfortable passive 3d glasses.
Cons Donno as such.
Summary LM9600 is an incredible display piece by LG; its design is way stunning and slimmest bezel gives a marvelous look to this TV set! TV has a high refresh rate of 480Hz with dynamic contrast ratio 10000000:1; image quality with such high configuration is tremendous!
