  • "For the Money, One of the Best!"
    on by RichardWortham

Pros + Picture is very bright, contrasty, and well saturated
+ Colors are deep and vivid
    + Sound great without buzzing
+ Black levels are very good
    + Easy setup

Cons - Bright room performance not great
    - Remote control not very sensitive

Summary I've had this TV for about a week now -- for the money, I feel this might be the best tv out there.

This tv was purchased from a fulfillment by Amazon deal, for under $1,450.00 -- now we're talkin the newest model Infinia plasma, and 60" at that! Sure, there might be better tvs out there, but in this size, you'd be paying close to a $1K or more. As for the TV iself:

Coming from and 9 year old projection screen Toshiba, the picture quality, in a dark setting, in Blu ray or an HD source program is simply breathtaking! Some nature programs in HD are mindblowingly clear and vivid -- it's that good...mind you I'm not a super duper picture analyzing person...I just know what looks good to my eyes and it looks really good. I am a picky person in general and would notice if the picture was poor, but it's just not the case.

TV is in a very bright room, light all day and yes, there is glare -- some programs (dark ones) might be difficult to view during peak sun hours. However, in my case, the TV usually isn't watched until after 5pm when we're back from work, etc, and by that time, the picture is fine. If you're very particular about glare, this might be the only real negative that I can find. It's pretty bad, but then again, it's still better than than my old projection tv in this regard. CNET noted the bright room performance of this plasma isn't that great, and I can see that being the case.

But if the room is in a darker setting, the picture is very bright, contrasty, and well saturated. Colors are deep and vivid. Black levels are very good for me -- I suppose they could be measurely better, but most likely not at this price point. Settings are numerous...wireless works properly. No problems with 24p Blu ray material, etc. Picture is smooth and fluid. Unit runs a bit hot on top back panel, but not too bad -- can't notice any heat, unless you're more than a foot away. As for buzz, there is a low buzz emitted at the top back panel near the edges (I think) -- you can't really hear it until about a foot from the tv (and really from the back), otherwise, you can't really notice. In a silent room, I have to strain to hear it (if that's even what I'm hearing); wth the HT system on, you definately can't notice anything.

Aesthetically, I feel this TV is at the very top of the long list of TVs out there -- it's just plain beautiful in its simple, single glass pane desgin -- LG's are some of the very best looking TVs in general -- at about 2" in depth, it's very impressive...

All in all -- I'm very pleased and looking forward to a long time watching this beauty. I'll post an update if anything goes wrong with the set, etc, but hopefully, all will be smooth sailing. Best bang for the buck in my book!

  • "Simply put: This tv is all that!!"
    on by mrmanning2u

Pros Excellent sleek design looks awesome in any room, on the swivel stand or mounted on a wall!
The high definition picture is breath taking!
Add a blu-ray player and a surround sound system...watch out! Will blow u away!

Cons If i had any complaint it wld probably be the picture quality on the youtube app.

Summary We bought this tv after my 52 inch projection screen finally died for the 2nd time(yes, i was trying to hold on to it...lol). Went into the store (H.H. Gregg) looking to buy maybe a 46/47 inch LCD. Salesman said why dnt u get more bang for ur buck, check out these 50 inch plasmas. He said plasma and i was very, very leary bcuz of the horror stories i had heard. He showed them to me and i was impressed by the picture quality right away. I then noticed my wife kept eyeing the 60 inch LG plasma. Salesman then showed us all the bells and whistles of that 60 inch LG...we were blown away. SOLD!! Took this baby home and set it up in our family room and have not been disappointed yet!! This was in November 2010. Later I added the LG Blu-Ray player and i love it! Already had my surround sound system, so I now have my own movie theater in my house...lol. You will not go wrong with this LG plasma at all. Best Tv i ever had so far!

  • "Great Tv at a great price"
    on by TC Rider

Pros Great picture. Slim line so it looks great on the wall. Lots of connectors for all the toys. Picture really pops, gotta love plasma

Cons A little awkward getting some of the cables in the back, typical of slim line sets on a slim line mount. But you do it once and it's done.

Summary We bought this in August of 2010 on sale. Black Friday prices may be even better. Picture is much better than the Panny I bought in 2006, better blacks, no motion artifacts. I'm a big fan of plasma. Built in sound could be better, but sounds great with home theater setup.

  • "Stylish THX certified 60 for under $2000"
    on by BS_MD

    Pros Single layer
    Borderless
    IPTV ready
    Wireless box ready
    THX
    PRICE

    Cons No 3D
No integrated WiFi (dongle not included)
Wireless box not available yet thru retail

Summary 60PK750 is a price winner. If you don't fear the Plasma technology this could be the value piece for 2010. THX certification on this LG means great blacks, and vibrant color. I've yet to notice any motion artifacts on this one. An all around smooth TV for the money.

Aesthetically it picks up where LG's popular SL80 series left off. Borderless and Single Layer, the TV is considerably thinner than last years PS60 series. Great offering from LG.

I have not evaluated IPTV on this one, nor been able to use the wireless 1080p box as of yet. The included games are useless obv.
