Manufacturer description
Six distinct processes contribute to picture improvement. LG's XD Engine takes the low resolution of analog signals to near HD levels by improving brightness, contrast, detail and enhancing color as well as reducing signal noise. This total solution results in cinema like high-resolution images. Built-in ATSC tuner allows this TV to receive over-the-air digital broadcast signals and unscrambled digital cable. Super IPS Technology&trrade educes common distortion and blurring caused by fast motion video and also provides one of the industry's widest viewing angles (176°).User opinions

Owned it one year now. Very pleased.
Pros: Nice picture, built in HDTV tuner is a huge plus if you don't have cable!
Cons: Poor sound quality (not a big deal if you have a theater system)

Great looking LCD
Pros: Slick looking, front LED display, crisp picture
Cons: Only 1 DVI port, no HDMI
I also use this TV to connect with my PC and the 1366x768 resolution isn't bad. I opted against renting an HD box from my cable company, and I can actually receive HD channels over the air even without an antenna!
I've been looking for LCDs for a couple weeks and finally found one to suit my needs. First, I wanted a LCD that was suitible to my budget (< $2500) and this certainly fit the bill. This is hands down the best 37" LCD to get at this price IMO, I also took a hard look at the Sharp 37" AQUOS but this TV just looks slicker and picture quality is on par if not better.

Excellent picture, great features, easy set-up, great product
Pros: Picture quality, wide range of features, multiple connections
Cons: No HDMI or cable card slot; however, I suspect that the DVI and digital optical audio inputs work just as well,
I have watched football and network shows in HD, and satellite programs in SD. All were excellent - Monday night football was superb - but the capper occurred when we watched an HD movie via satellite last night. Used the "movie" video setting. The picture quality was spectacular. Sound was better than I expected from a television (we don't have full surround sound - yet). All-in all, I highly recommend this set, but bear in mind that this is my first HDTV.
If anything, our impression of this set is even more positive. We have adjusted the picture settings in accordance with CNET recommendations and find their advice is good. With the contrast set at 50, brightness at 60, color temperature at warm, and color at 50, the picture is great for most programs. Using the settings available on the set (settings available are daylight, normal, night time, movie, video game, and sports) can sometimes result in a picture that is almost too intense. IMHO, the contrast ratio of 1,000:1 is plenty.
My wife originally thought that I went "over the top" in getting this set. Now she thinks it is "wonderous".
