"Try running Windows XP @ WXGA on this! It is Brilliant." on by hellohdtv

Pros: No burn in when running Windows @ true WXGA

Cons: Purple Hue when viewing from an angle

Summary: I brought this premium price LCD because I want to connect my multimedia PC to it as though as it is a PC LCD monitor. I would not dare to do this through a Plasma TV as I do not want to cause any burn in. (Imagine the Windows start button and task bar burnt in to your TV? No Thanks.) Besides how many Plasma TVs would support native resolution of 1360x768 from PC DVI? I couldn’t find any.

My cheap multimedia PC has a 1080i turner card, DVD burner, 8ch sound , 500GB HD for hundreds of hours of recording. The price of a set top box + 5.1 decoder + a DVD recorder that can’t record 1080i programs cost far far far more than my PC. It makes sense to use a multimedia PC with this LG LCD. Otherwise buy a plasma.

I can now surf the Internet, play games and view digital TV at the same time in my lounge room at fantastic views without worrying burn in. The PC resolution is natural 16:9 (1360x768), no downwards conversion! Just great with the wireless kb/mouse and remote control

The only down side is LG LCD TV has a purple hue went viewing from an angle. I also don’t have to worry about the brightness of the TV wont diminish to 50% 5 years down the track. I waited so long for a 42inch LCD and I am glad I waited. Plasma is good for non-techno people.

"Buy a TV that will last longer than 6-10 years" on by ccitymaster69

Pros: Thin with a great picture and very nice looking!

Cons: Price is high as technology at this size is new

Summary: Why spend more than a Plasma? Because this TV will still be working 20 years from now unlike the Plasma. LG is a great company but I'd still get the extended warranty on it just in case (same goes for Plasma).

"nice but too much expensive- alternatives" on

Pros: you better take a look for LCD TV alternatives. For example the brandnew Hyundai HLT-3220 32 Inch LCD TV. 1340 Euro at jumbio.de

"I got this from korea" on

Pros: Awesome tv, 42" looks a lot bigger than it sounds. Halo2 on this baby is ridiculous. Larger than life shooting. The picture is excellent. I even got a swivel stand from korea and I was able to use a webcam to turn into a mirror! Excellent product.

    Cons: Heavy. Expensive.
