"THE LG INFINIA 50PX950 THX 3D PLASMA HDTV"
on by autman123Pros Best real picture of any TV out there.
Best 3 D picture of any TV out there.
Best quality of any TV out there.
Best price of any 50" 3-D TV out thereCons NetCast fewer apps and services than many other interactive models have
Summary I have had my new LG 50PX950 for two weeks now, and all I got to say is, man do I love this TV
LG 50PX950 THX 3D PLASMA IS THE BEST HDTV FOR YOUR BUCKS $
I have seen no problems with this TV as some others have written.
It has excellent motion and black level response; there are only subtle traces of crosstalk visible which is very close to the Panasonic, Sony and Samsung. Many reviews were done before the 100 hr break in period. If you let the TV get past the initial 100 start up hours there is NO !!! Bleeding effect as others have written; that is where images that remain stationary for long periods of time tend to leave outlines on the screen after they have disappeared or moved. Also keep in mind the picture is only as good as the content in which you are showing, and there is some real bad content out there.
I have just finished watching some of the best 3D content out there.
Alice In Wonderland, Legend of The Guardians, Despicable Me, and Resident Evil: Afterlife, both in 3d and 2D versions.
The one thing I have noticed is that the Panasonic and Samsung may seem like the brighter clearer picture, but what they have all missed that the LG has captured, is a pure and natural picture, with all the detail of fine art.
I will gladly take a little less brightness and contrast for a true realistic picture any day. As long as your not in a real bright room then this TV is the best you can buy.
I have been to several Best buys and other stores and when you do side by side comparisons you will see that the LG may not be as bright and bursting with contrast as the Panasonic or the Samsung, but if you take a deeper look, what it does do is show you is detail. You can see every hair and natural skin tones that are so real you forget you're watching a TV.
This is what I'm looking for in a HDTV, and the LG 50PX950 delivers it better than Panasonic,Samsung,Sony or anyone else as far as it goes. I want a Real live looking picture and when it comes to detail LG does it better than anyone, hands down. Bright and bold is not always better if the picture does not look real. All the other manufactures seem to exaggerate there contrast and colors instead of focusing on real life detail. Well I'm not buying it !!
If you want Real then the LG 50PX950 is as real as you can get?. PERIOD

Note ! The LG 50PX950 is the same TV as the LG 60PX950 the only difference is size.
Look I love art and even though I may be attracted to a painting that is bright and full of color, if the picture does not show the artist expression in detail, then it is nothing more than just another cheap painting.
Well I would not settle for cheap art on canvas, so why would I settle for cheap art on my HDTV ?.
If you want the best then you have found it in the LG 50 PX950 or the LG 60 PX950.

"When you write of "art..." and such, are you referring to the design of the TV itself?"
NO ! even though the design of the TV is very good.
I'm talking about the actual picture of the TV being the most realistic true to life picture you will find on any TV out there.
You will not get this kind of realism from the Panny VT25 .

"The most realistic picture I've seen in a TV."
on by tbtb123Pros - The picture quality is the most significant here - a true realistic picture
- excellent contrast, black level motion response
- Smooth 3D playbackCons - brightness and bold are missing a bit
- Internet services features not user friendly enoughtSummary The 50PX905 is just like the 60PX950, the only difference is the screen size.
I honestly think the those 2 models are the best HD and 3D TVs available today.
First because of the relatively fair price I got it - 1230$ on http://*******/idJAzv , absolutely worth it !
The picture is like the best, it looks so realistic and not only in 3D, the colors are very sharp and real, the auto contrast - black level and motion responses are excellent.
A minor weakness is it's brightness compared to other models of Samsung or Sony perhaps.
But when it comes to the litlle details LG takes it big time ! no Sony, Samsung or any panasonic TV can ever look any better than this LG TV, the bold and bright which are missing a bit aren't important if the picture not looks real.
In conclusion,
This is the ultimate TV for HD and 3D watching. You get a marvelous entertainment as this is the most realistic picture you can find, period. -

"Terrible Television Even Worse Corporation"
on by MZAIONPros NOTHING LG
Cons The television has panel issues with shadow images remaining on the screen, like the MSNBC banner that MSNBC runS during their shows. But the worst is that the company knows this television is defective and they won't admit it. DO NOT BUY THIS TELEVISION.
Summary I bought this LG 50PX950 for the Super Bowl this year, some 4 months ago. 6 weeks ago it became clear to me that the banner logo that marks the top of all of MSNBC shows was creating a kind of shadow image on my screen that remained, no matter what other channel I played or what other show I watched. I contacted LG about this immediately and was told by Wendy, the Customer Relations Supervisor I was directed to that the issue will be taken care, she just needs to send out an LG tech person to confirm what I'm describing. Couldn't have been nicer. The Tech, (Jairo Ortiz), comes out, confirms what I'm seeing, confirms there's clearly something wrong with my television, etc. After some unfortunate dicking around by LG, they agreed to replace the panel. Okay...I'll give them a chance to prove to me that it is just my unit that is defective. Well, after some additional dicking around on their part, they finally agree to send the very same tech, Jairo, out to replace the panel. Within a few hours of the panel being replaced, I watch MSNBC for an hour or two, at the most, and there's that shadow image of their logo again. So much has happened since then that is not worth repeating, except they sent the Tech guy out one more time to fix one additional board, this repair does nothing, he then tells me the television has a "Manufacturer's Defect" and there's nothing he can do to fix the television and that LG needs to get me a new one. More dicking around until they finally conclude that the problem with the television is "customer misuse.", so says Stan Williams the 6th Customer Relations Supervisor that I had talked with...the one who said to me "just send me the receipt from the store you purchased the television from, and we'll be able to get you a new television.
So, this is a terrible television, if you believe that watching regular television on a $1,2000 television is not customer misuse, then you will agree with me.
But worst of all is the way LG has dealt with this issue. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE AN LG PRODUCT AGAIN. And I will urge every one I know to do the very same. This is truly what happened and if you ever meet Jairo Ortiz, the Tech who has serviced my television now 3 times, he'll tell you just as I have. He's the only one at LG who has dealt with me in an honest and honorable way. The way LG has dealt with this issue has been criminal. -
"What can I say :("
on by Erwin1972Pros When it still worked the picture quality was great.
Beautiful colors.
Black levels were deep enough. So 2 stars.Cons Dark banding around menu screens.
Dark baning with pop up screens from tv stations.
Image retention !!!
Only had it for 3 weeks :(Summary Dark banding visible when opening tv screen menu's. When I e-mailed LG's costumer service and showed them a picture of the problem they said it was normal. After 3 days it became worse so I called the repair service and invited them in my house. They told me the banding was not normal. I had the tv for 3 weeks and it is in the repair service now for 2 weeks. I called them yesterday and the new is I get a new one.
TV is back at LG's now and never something from LG again. TV was at the repair service for 5 weeks, they were waiting for LG to send spare parts and later they waited for LG to respond but after 2 weeks still nothing from LG. Now I am waiting to get my money back. I hope it doesn't take them too long (again).
Hoping that it is not an issue with the new tv. Also don't know yet if it will be the same model.

TV looked great with the one sheet glass design, picture quality was better than my old Sony Bravia 40W2000 but the banding problem was the reason to send it back. Now I am watching my Sony again.
Better luck next time but no LG. Their service is not what I expected to be.
Want to downgrade the review to 1 star.
