"Poor Picture Quality, Intrusive Child Lock Feature, Unreliable"
Pros: Looks cool, slim profile
Cons: Poor picture, expensive and unreliable
Summary: This TV is a unmitigated joke. 500 dollars for a very unreliable, poor performing unit. Picture quality is sub par at best, it's fuzzy and indistinct, with a weird muted sheen that washes out any detail. A 100 dollar tube TV is would be far superior. The child lock kept me from setting up the TV properly. I had to figure a work around to bypass it.
I had limited space so I was looking for a small flat panel monitor that had the 16:9 aspect ratio, but I didn't want HDTV. This unit fit the bill. Unfortunately this TV proved to be a poor choice. Sound is ok, nothing special, the picture was dissapointing. Then, to top it off, it died on me 4 months after I bought it. Oh yeah, it has a 90 day warranty. Great. I browbeat Magnavox into fixing it under warranty, initially they refused. It took me several phone calls and lots of persuasion. I still have to ship it, at my expense, half way across the country for repair, which will take a month. Stay away from this TV. 500 dollars should get you a much better performer than this.
