"As good as the Pioneer Kuro PDP-5080 HD "Or Better""
Pros: Black are Black! Solid frame! More Inputs. Value Priced!
Cons: Remote not back lit. But who uses these any way...
Summary: When we compared the MX-50X5 to the Pioneer Kuro PPD-5080 We saw no difference in quality between the 2 what so ever!
In fact we were shocked to find out that the internal componants in the MX-50X5 are almost all the same as the Pioneer! We had ours tuned up by our techs and 'WOW' what a show stopper!!
So what more are you getting besides the name "Pioneer" on your unit? A much higher credit card bill!
Both sets have a 1 year warranty. The Pioneer had a much lighter frame and felt cheaply built. The onscreen setup on the MX-50X5 was also a big plus between the two.
Our friends who also own Pioneer's were somewhat embarrased at the price we paid and It was obvious they felt cheated....
But thats what you get when you just buy a name... Not whats behind it!!
