"Problems with Mintek flatscreen"
Pros: Large screen, good picture definition.
Cons: Did not last through the warranty
Summary: This flat screen was given to me as a Christmas gift. Approx. 9 months later, I placed a dvd into the on board dvd player and it booted up ok but the remote would not advance the menu in any way. I tried using the menu buttons on the tv itself and that did not work either. I couldn't even eject the dvd. I tried hooking up a seperate dvd player through the external audio video ports and the dvd player was not recognized. I could only use the seperate dvd player by disconnecting the coax cable and using it. I suppose the biggest issue is trying to find someone who works on this tv. If you try to contact Mintek, they will not return your emails and appear to be one of the best kept secrets as far as service and providing information on trouble shooting and repairing this tv. If you want a tv for good picture quality only, this would be a good choice. If you want a tv with a built in dvd player and other video input options, this is definitely not for you.
