"Best 46" 120hz 1080p LCD"
Pros: Picture and size -super slim
Cons: Speakers are ok
Summary: My fat-boy 35" Sony Trinitron is dead & so after eight years I ventured out into the 21st Century to buy a replacement. I asked, researched, asked some more, researched, asked again & finally purchased the best 46" LCD that could fit a 42" opening. Another option is the Toshiba 465FR350U, but this one was by far more expensive, but worth it.
The picture for HD hdmi is great, 120hz apears to work just fine (played Transformers)the colors are great, the TV is facing six huge windows with direct sun. Black is a rich black not blue nor gray like the Sharp or Toshiba models.
Cable and regular VHS are great when upconverting, the cable (comcast)HD 1080i input is super and the rich "brilliant" color is extra nice. Manu options are friendly easy to use. I hooked up: two HDMI cables, one Component video input, one S-Video input and they all work great (the TV id's the signal and you just name it and its saved).
The speakers are ok, but if your gonna spend $$ for this model then I hope you have a nice Audio system to complement it. Use the latest version of HDMI cables so you can get the best output (I purchased them from the web and saved some cash, they work just as fine as the "monster cables").
The side hook ups are handy; we pluged in our camera and the TV gives out an auto picture show.
The best part is the picture quality and the slim design. It's a nice tv and you will get what you pay for. Even my brother inlaw who is very technicaly informed, has the latest electronics, and everyone uses as a walking reference was very impressed.
