Manufacturer description

Responding to the growing availability of HD content and increasing consumer awareness, Panasonic offers its TC-26LX600 HD LCD flat screen television that features impressive pixel response speed, helping to ensure excellent detail and smooth motion during rapid image transitions. The set also features progressive scanning, helping to create a stable, solid image, free of interlaced artifacts. The 600 series includes two HDMI inputs and a vivid mode that further improves color purity. The advanced LCD AI enhances picture contrast by increasing the gradation steps according to the displayed scene. Increased steps of gradation in white areas articulate minute differences for a realistic picture. Likewise, increased steps of gradation in dark areas enhance the sharpness and crispness in blacks. In keeping with this unit's sleek, space-efficient design, the front-firing speakers are located underneath the display, allowing for flexible installation options even in small spaces.

Good affordable TV

Pros: Good quality picture for a 720p. Light weight, and good for the buck

Cons: Does not upconvert regular definition and it only has 1 hdmi input

Review: This TV is really good for those who want Hi Def under $1000. I have it in my bedroom and it is very reliable. The quality of the picture is good and it is not too expensive. I can pick up by myself and it looks good.

Great picture; 2 HDMI; could use more viewing options

Pros: 2 HDMI inputs, 2 component inputs; great picture

Cons: only 4 viewing settings

Review: Owned this for about a month. Very pleased with picture quality, with viewing angle, with cusomizations for picture (brightness, sharpness, color, tint, etc). Only Con is that there are 4 pre-set ways to view the screen (4:3; Zoom; Full; and Justified.) I have not owned an HDTV LCD before, but I think that more customizable choices or more pre-set choices are needed, as watching television (versus DVD movies) leaves only limited ways to appreciate the 4:3 or letterbox programs, and often none really do it well. Too many squat sized people versus watching in much reduced size 4:3 option or incomplete zoom option.
When buying LCD HDTV, I recommend picture quality as first option, 2 HDMI inputs as second, and multiple viewing / screen pre-sets or customizable choices.
