Cons Speakers but I got the 5.1 connected so not an issue. Bezel is a bit bulky.

Summary I must admit I was skeptical about this plasma being the fist plasma I have ever owned. One thing I have to say is throw all misconceptions you had about plasma out the window. This tv is just amazing. You just cannot beat the price of this tv and what you get for it. The Picture quality is amazing the deep blacks and bright whites make movies and gaming more real and exciting.

I actually actually could not decide at first, I was looking at the GT30 as well. I just did not think the HTX option on the GT30 was worth thousands more. Tho a great option.

This tv is great and once I got it calibrated WOW the difference was night and day. This tv really is amazing.

My first plasma and I glad I made that choice. Its plasma all the way from now on.

Pros Good picture quality and colors. Deep blacks. 3D and internet is a bonus. Remote is rigid and strong.

Cons Sound is just normal. Shoud yose an amplifier / home theatre system.

Summary I was looking to buy a led 50+ but ended up buying the st30 Panasonic plasma as it was within my budget. I was a little nervous earlier while buying but the risk was worth taking. My room is just normally lit (not bright) watched a lot of movies and believe me it is as good as a led / LCD TV. For those who are confused on LED / LCD/ PLASMA stop reading all nuisance about reflections / burning out etc- on plasmas - Just go and buy the ST30 series and you will never regret.

Pros Rich, full color detail, Viera Cast works great. Did not find any of the cons stated below about brightness fluctuation.

Cons Factory setting out of the box is laughable. Speakers are ok but nothing special. Shiny black bezel is distracting.

Summary I went back and forth on the GT and ST series and really could tell no difference other than the cosmetics. THX setting may be worth the extra dollars to some, but found this panel to perform beautifully for live sports and movies alike. We bought the 60" version (replaced a 50" panny) and couldn't be happier. I do wish that Panasonic would go to a matt finish on the bezel, but it's only noticeable in bright daylight. The Viera Cast seems easy to use and offers enough to satisfy my needs. Great overall value and performer!

Pros Black Level, contrast and back light are great!
