"great picture, but constant burn in"
1.5 starson by tim.charles@pdsc.bizPros: picture quality
Cons: burn in on both models I purchased
Summary: I would not disagree with any of the points made about the picture's quality- it is very good to say the least. I did see a lot of glare, but never got a chance to make any of the adjustments that may have reduced it.
But.... the first model I purchased had burned in images within a short period of time. Not just one image, but three different images, all burned in for good. Here's where I must right away make it clear that I did not leave the TV on for an extended period of time on the same channel to get any of these images, it just happened.
The retailed told me I must have received the bad TV out of the batch and replaced it with another. But this time the exact same burn in happened, only this time it happened much sooner. And the image that is now burned in is something for which I was watching a program that lasted less than two hours.
There's no way I am 1) living with a TV that has an image burned in again already, or 2) sending this TV back to try the same Panasonic model a third time. I am on the cnet website now reading through reviews for LED models that will hopefully not have the same issue.
If you decide to buy this TV, maybe your experience will be fine. But watch very carefully for any burn in because the last thing you want is to be haunted by those images for years to come.
