"Hands down the perfect plasma"
Pros: Great picture and great price
Cons: Wish I had the money for the 50 inch
Summary: I just bought this TV yesterday (4/2/06) and I was blown away. It looks 10x better at home than it did in the store (Tweeter). I had a 36 inch Sony XBR which is about 8 years old and it has HD but only in letter box. I did a about six months of research on TV's because it was time for a new one. I wanted a plasma because of the great and clear picture. Once I plugged this bad boy up I could not believe the clearity on this TV. Then it got even better when I watched Star Wars 3 on s-video and it looked like it was in HD. But even better was my Xbox 360, WOW is all I have to say about how good the HD games look on this TV.
While doing my research on the HDMI, I found out it is really worth buying the $180 cable if you have a TV 60 inches or more and have 1080p. I am trying to save you money because this TV looks amazing with the component cables. If and when the HD-DVD players come out I might buy a HDMI cable but until then stick with the componet cables and save you some money.
The model before this TV was rated the highest in the March 06 Consumer Report and I have no doubt that this TV will have the same rating.
If you are in the market for a new TV I highly recommend checking this TV out and its bigger brothers.
