"Simply Awesome!"
Pros: Sleak Design; Beautiful Picture (HD and SD); SD Slot; and HDMI
Cons: No USB Slot
Summary: This is not a technical review by any means. I merely want to clear up some of the older reviews listed throughout the web.
I purchased the Panasonic TH-37PX60U Plasma tv on 9/1/2006 and had the tv mounted over our fireplace. It was pretty darn easy to setup although I had to rely heavily on the instruction booklet and user forums to get clarification on a few things. Plasmas are new technology to me and I was able to figure it out.
One thing that seems to appear on most reviews for this particular TV (and many others) is "burn-in" and the fact that it only lasts a few years. Sure, that may be true for older Plasma TVs but not the case for the newer technology. This particular TV is supposed to have a life of 60,000 hours, which is around 20 years or so (7 hours a day usage). As far as "burn-in", Panasonic uses a technology called "pixel swap" that helps prevent "burn-in". It also has a screensaver built-in that also helps prevent "burn-in".
This TV is awesome and I have no regrets about purchasing it. My advice is do your homework but look at the date of the reviews you read. Most negative reviews are in the past and newer technology (such as this TV) have fixed many of the problems.
Good luck!
