"Best plasma on the market hands down"

by jstretch on May 12, 2005

Pros: The picture is excellent. Set up is a breeze.

Cons: No Cons-My only minor gripe is the BNC connectors instead of RCA. But, this is easily fixed by buying the $15 adapter at Radio Shack. (Note- Best Buy and Circuit City don't carry the adapters)

Summary: I researched buying my first Plasma TV for over a year. My old TV was a Sony XBR CRT with full HD resolution. The Sony has an excellent picture but I wanted something to hang on the wall. This TV looks better in my opinion than the SONY because the colors are better. I know some will disagree, but resolution is not the key to HD, color is the key. This EDTV picture is every bit as good as any full HD picture that I have seen. Save yourself the extra 2K and put it into your sound system.

It's true that this TV does not have all of the features of other Plasmas, but you're not paying for those features either. I have noticed that other reviewers are penalizing this TV for a lack of features and I think that is wrong. Don't penalize a product for not doing something that it was never intended or designed to do.

I bought this TV sight unseen based on CNET and other research and I couldn't be happier. There are not many consumer products on the market that I would give a 10 rating to, but this is definitely one of them. In my opinion this is a perfect Plasma.

Side note- A buddy of mine has the 50 inch industrial version of the Panasonic. If you have the extra money and space this is also a very good TV. Though I would not say the picture is any better.
    Updated
I've owned this Plasma for three months now and I still think it's perfect. I'm thinking about buying another one for the bedroom.

that fact that you said this, "I bought this TV sight unseen based on CNET and other research" show that you didn't test this tv against others in person. so then, how can this be, "the best plasma on the market"?

also, there is no way that this tv is better than the pioneer elite line.

i'm sure this is a great tv, but i bet if you compare it side by side with a pioneer elite with 3:3 pulldown you'll see a difference when watching sports or action films.
