"Great picture, good connectivity"
Pros: Easy setup, versatile remote, DVD picture is stunning
Cons: Normal TV viewing could be better
Summary: After long and careful selection process I decided to buy 42PX500 partly because it's a newer model with reasonable pricing. It has all the features you would typically want or need in a TV ensuring that it's doesn't become obsolete soon.
Setup is easy, I hooked up my Onkyo HT, Mitsubishi DVD and XBox painlessly. Remote control has been programmed to control all of these components including Cable box. XBox picture looks pretty good. Picture from Widescreen DVD movies like LOTR and Finding Nemo is stunning; SD slot is easy to use.
I have yet to try HD Antenna, CableCard and PC connection.
Overall it's a very nice package in a reasonable price especially if you compare it to Hitachi's 42HDT51.Updated
I've tried Picture-And-Picture feature with DVD movie and TV playing simultaneously - that works great.
