"Great Looking Picture!"
Pros: Pc Input, Cablecard, Awesome design, Swivel Base
Cons: Occasional blockiness
Summary: I initially purchased the 42" Sony television with the little Sony symbol that lights up blue. It was a hell of a tv for the price of 3499. But it lacked inputs. There was no way to connect pc so I decided to take it back and for the same price picked this new panasonic up.
The picture I belive is slightly better then the sony in terms of the blacks and color. Occasionally with motion there is some artifiact but that could be from the source.
Computer games are the real deal on this thing at 1024x768 the picture is stunning and could give you a seizure so beware.
I would probably not pay more then 3200$ for this item though. Scared that this thing will break in a year, so recommend 4 year plan.Updated
Correction.. the not so smooth action (motion artifact) was from the source.. this television rocks! I upgraded my HTPC to windvd 7.0, and the quality is like 10x better... pq is great, good inputs, and great price. But still afraid it will poop out on me.
Mo!

I read all the opinions on this product, and you are all right on there money. I just purchased the Panasonic TH-42PX500U for Christmas and have been blown away by it. You cannot beat this product for the price. I shopped around at 5 - 6 different places and the one name kept coming up for the price, performance, features and all around quality in the 42in. range - The Panasonic TH-42PX500U. Even when the sales person wanted to sell me a higher "quality line" HDTV, he always returned to comparing all the models to the Panasonic. They all said the same thing - "For the money, there is no better HDTV in this class"
I agree with one of the other reviewers, if you?re in the market for HDTV Plasma, you better get one before Panasonic figures out it can charge a lot more for this HDTV model. -
What are HTPC and windvd 7.0? I am planning to purchase this tv and would like to know as much as possible before I do so.
